If hearing aids are recommended, a Hearing Aid Evaluation may be scheduled to discuss hearing aid options. The Hearing Aid Orientation is the fitting of the hearing aids one-two weeks following a Hearing Aid Evaluation. During this visit, hearing aids are programmed for comfortable and effective restoration of hearing for speech. Patients are fully instructed in the use and care of their new hearing aids and follow-up appointments are scheduled. Family members are counseled in regard to how hearing aids work and are given suggestions to better communicate with their hearing-impaired loved one.
