The evaluation is a group of tests which measure the degree and type of hearing loss and enables the audiologist to make a diagnosis of the cause of the hearing problem. An annual Audiometric Evaluation is a covered medical test submitted to insurance companies and Medicare by this office. The use of Amplification is a vital part of hearing rehablitation for individuals whose hearing can not be corrected by medical treatment of the ears. If hearing aids are recommended, a Hearing Aid Evaluation may be scheduled to discuss hearing aid options. All types of new technology in digital processing, including the open-fitted hearing aids, are available.

The Hearing Aid Orientation is the fitting of the hearing aids two weeks following a Hearing Aid Evaluation. During this visit, hearing aids are fine-tuned for comfortable and effective restoration of hearing for speech. Patients are fully instructed in the use and care of their new hearing aids and follow-up appointments are scheduled. Family members are counseled in regard to how hearing aids work and are given suggestions to better communicate with their hearing-impaired loved one. 

If hearing aid reimbursement is offered by a patient's insurance, it is the responsibility of the patient to purchase the hearing aids and to then be reimbursed by their insurance company. All hearing aids carry at least a two-year repair warranty and a  one-year loss coverage.
